Oracle XMLDB is a standard option that ships with the Oracle database. XMLDB turns Oracle into a high-performance, native XML storage and retrieval engine. It fully absorbs the W3C XML data model into the database, and provides standard access methods for navigating and querying XML data.

XMLDB was first released with Oracle 9i release 2. It was previously called Project XDB.
